Privacy Policy

The short version

  • 37 of 44 tools run entirely in your browser. We never see your data.
  • 7 tools (Word↔PDF, Excel/PowerPoint→PDF, PowerPoint→Word, video to MP3/GIF) upload your file to our server in Germany over HTTPS, convert it, then delete it within 10 minutes. Nothing is stored, read, shared, or backed up.
  • The site runs on Google AdSense. Google and its partners may set cookies in your browser to deliver and measure ads. You can opt out of personalised ads any time. Links are below.
  • No analytics. No session-replay scripts. No selling of personal information.

What we collect

Files you upload to server-side tools sit in a per-request temp directory on our server while we run the conversion. The result comes back to you, and an automated cleanup task wipes the file within 10 minutes. Nothing is logged, indexed, backed up, or read by a human.

Server logs keep your IP address and request method/path for up to 30 days. We use them for abuse prevention and rate limiting. IPs are not associated with files.

Browser-only tools (QR code, JSON formatter, password generator, hash, regex, Base64, and so on) never transmit your input anywhere. Everything happens in the tab.

Cookies & advertising

The site itself sets two pieces of persistent state: a theme preference and a list of tools you recently used. Both live in your browser's localStorage and never reach our server. The Cookie Policy has the complete inventory.

Google AdSense and its advertising partners set cookies for ad delivery and measurement. The site is free because of these ads, so the cookies come with the territory. AdSense specifics are in the next section.

Google AdSense

This site uses Google AdSense to display ads. As a third-party vendor, Google uses cookies, including the DART cookie, to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites on the internet.

Cookies AdSense and its partners may set include __gads, __gpi, IDE, DSID, and NID. They cover ad delivery, frequency capping, conversion measurement, and (where consent is given) personalisation. Google documents the full mechanism at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

EEA, UK & Switzerland visitors: Google's Funding Choices CMP (consent management platform) shows a consent banner before personalised ads run. If you decline, you still see ads, just non-personalised ones based on the page content. Your choice is stored in the FCNEC cookie and you can change it any time from the banner's settings link.

Opting out of personalised advertising:

MyToolbox does not pick which ad creatives Google or its partners run. AdSense is configured here for general-audience inventory and family-safe content categories.

Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

We don't retain your files, so there's usually nothing on the file-handling side to access, port, or delete. For server-log entries tied to an IP address, email us. Valid requests get processed within 30 days.

Ad personalisation: if you're in the EEA/UK/CH and want to revoke earlier consent, the Funding Choices banner has a settings link (see above). For all visitors, the opt-out paths in the AdSense section apply.

California residents (CCPA / CPRA): we do not "sell" personal information for money. We do "share" personal information with Google for cross-context behavioural advertising in the CCPA sense. That's what an ad-supported site does. You can opt out via Google's controls above, or by emailing hello@mytoolbox.cc with subject "CCPA opt-out."

We honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where applicable.

Children

MyToolbox is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their data. If you think a child sent us something, email us and we'll delete it.

Changes

Material updates to this policy bump the date at the top and get announced on the home page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
